C.S. Lewis wrote in "Paradise Lost": "In the midst of a world of light and love, of song and feast and dance, [Lucifer] could find nothing to think of more interesting than his own prestige."

To see this church he attended as a child and the house he grew up in, living in this city, one comes closer to understanding his reasoning when he writes the above quote.
