in downpatrick, at the down cathedral, lies st. patrick's tomb. it's just the outline of a cross and part of his name. very simple and yet poignant. on his shield, are written his own words:
I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the starlit heaven,
The glorious sun's life-giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea,
Around the old eternal rocks
glorifying the beauty seen around him, given by GOD, he went back to the land of his captivity and dramatically changed the future of ireland.

Do you know the rest of the patrick poem?
It roots you deeply with creation, it's truly awesome (in the original non-american sense of the word).
I'll forward it if you like,
Andrew :O)
