good to be car-less

Live mid-market rates as of: Sunday, September 04, 2005 - 5:54:06 PM EST
Great Britain Pound 1 GBP = 1.8398 USD 1 USD = 0.5435 GBP

4.41 GBP = 8.1135 USD United States Dollar

Next week our petrol prices go up again...to 97p per litre. that's £4.41 per gallon. with the exchange rate tonight, that makes the price in US dollars $8.1135. and you think your 'gas' prices are high?

once again, it makes me glad to not own a car. aside from the price of insurance which is about 550 quid a year for a 27 year old girl, just the cost of petrol alone would deter one.

Fortunately for we mountain bikers trapped on flat prairies, we find a mode of transportation easy on the pocket book. I do find it disheartening to hear colleagues grumbling pitilessly about gas prices when hundred's upon are dead or dying and countless are homeless and hungry. Besides, if we darn Americans would get rid of the damn Hummers... :)

Be well and get well.
