today i walked from my house to the city centre, several miles away. most of those miles pass through an area of Belfast called Newtownards. Obviously from the photos it's a pro-loyalist/UVF/UFF area. The UVF--Ulster Volunteer Force, and UFF--Ulster Freedom Fighters, are the two major loyalist paramilitary terrorist groups. no, they aren't active, but i'm sure if they felt there was just cause, they could be activated on short notice.
